Welcome to K2

2010 promises to be an exciting year for K2 Conservatories
At K2 we are expecting yet another challenging year. The decline in conservatory sales has been a well reported fact these past few years. As a result we have all had to compete harder for sales, and in turn our margins have been eroded. The main reason for the decline is the fact that the conservatory industry ‘as we know it’ was new and booming, and like all booms it had to come to an end. This coupled with the pressure on the economy has left us all reeling.
However - and this is a big however - our industry will at some point turn the corner. Those of us who have conservatories (myself included) know they will remain a popular home improvement. As time goes on and as the replacement/improvement market grows, sales will gradually level out. It will give us all some stability and hopefully make it a more attractive industry to be a part of. Obviously that still leaves us at the mercy of the economy… and your guess is as good as mine on this one!
On the positive side, the past 12 months have seen an increase in sales of larger conservatories, many of which incorporate high performance glass. Portal sales continue to grow and we are about to commission our own paint shop to cope with the extra coloured conservatory roofs that we now manufacture. Our aluminium roof lends itself to this market and remains increasingly popular.
