K2 Remains At 'Cutting Edge' Of Service Levels With New Depot

K2 Glass is building on the exceptional success of its Celsius thermal performance glass, with the opening of a new Southern distribution hub in Bedford.

This new depot will increase the service that K2 Glass currently provides in terms of order fulfillment and bespoke orders, enabling the company to deliver to a greater number of installers across the country and ensuring that the company maintains its current excellent service levels of 98%.

Dave Bradshaw, Managing Director Of K2 Glass comments: "More than 70,000 M2 of standard Celsius Glass has been installed in conservatories since its launch and this new depot will allow us to provide deliveries before midday across the country within 5-7 days of the order being placed. Increasingly consumers are looking for greater choice in the materials used to construct their conservatory and the skill and dedication of our team here ensures that we can provide functional glass, cut with fine precision and delivered on site to tight deadlines."

The new distribution depot will also increase K2's ability to provide direct delivery to the consumer, straight to the site where the conservatory is being constructed, which not only increases efficiency, but also reduces the possibility of breakages.

The popularity of Celsius and its increasing sales has already led to K2 Glass doubling its fleet of delivery vehicles and increasing its workforce by more than 25%. The company has recently employed a further 15 staff at its Blackburn production plant and is currently recruiting for several more to staff the new distribution depot.

K2 Glass has also recently launched Celsius 1.1, an advanced thermal performance glass with a ''u'' value of just 1.1. This new product maintains the excellent solar factor and light transmission properties of standard Celsius glass, and provides advanced heat retention for properties in more exposed locations.
