K2 Glass Is A Clear Winner At Glassex
The UK's leading supplier of thermal performance glass for conservatory roofs will be demonstrating the clear advantages of glass when it exhibits at Glassex 2005 with a substantial presence at the exhibition.
K2 Glass will be demonstrating the advantages of its technically advanced range with an inventive 'heat tunnel' display.
The 'K2 Glass heat tunnel' is a specially designed tunnel fitted at intervals with polycarbonate, standard glass and Celsius glass. K2 Glass heat lamps will be placed behind each section of the tunnel and visitors will be invited to walk through to experience first hand the thermal performance properties of Celsius glass. As Celsius is able to reflect 72% of solar energy, more than three times the amount reflected by standard glass, as well as retaining 50% more heat than standard glass, visitors will be able to experience the 'Celsius effect'; a noticeably cooler environment than that provided by glass or polycarbonate.
Also appearing on the K2 Glass stand will be a prototype for a revolutionary 'sliding' roof vent. Developed in partnership with Teleflex Morse and Sliding mechanism specialist, Accuride, the prototype is designed to operate in a similar way to a car sunroof with the top end opening up before sliding down the roof area. The design has been developed to enhance the aesthetics of the finished conservatory with a sleek, modern appearance and would enable homeowners to bring a real 'al fresco' feeling into their conservatory.
Comments Managing Director of K2 Glass, Dave Bradshaw: "We are looking forward to being able to demonstrate the benefits of Celsius thermal performance glass in a completely new way. While people do understand the concept when we explain Celsius''s thermal properties, it's only when they experience the differences in temperature between ordinary glass, polycarbonate and thermal performance Celsius glass that they really appreciate the benefits to the homeowner.
"More and more consumers view a conservatory as an all purpose, all weather extension to their home and are looking for solutions that will help deliver a comfortable environment all year round. Celsius Glass perfectly answers this market need and by looking at other innovations like the sliding roof vent we can continue to help our customers stay ahead of the marketplace."
K2's stand at Glassex will be number B014, situated in Hall 20 at the NEC.
