K2 To Launch Industry-leading, Aluminum Roof Vent
Never a business to rest on its laurels, leading UK conservatory system manufacturer, K2, is set to further build on its impressive track record of product firsts.
In line with its commitment to on-going product development and in response to feedback from the trade, the company has recently announced it will launch an aluminum sash version of its already highly successful PVCU roof vent. This new aluminum vent will be available from March 2006.
As customers have now come to expect of new K2 products, the aluminum roof vent offers a number of exciting benefits. Not only is it electronically operated, but it also addresses the perceived problems concerning the strength of PVCU sashes, but it also utilises an ingenious leak free design whereby the sash profile is entirely outside of the primary seal. Indeed the sash glazing itself seals into the outer frame – making water ingression impossible.
In addition, the position of the sash eliminates the need for a thermal break and eradicates any risk of condensation.
Best of all, the benefits don’t even end there. To accommodate a greater variety of roofs, the vent will be supplied in a dedicated 24/25mm sash profile for use with glass and polycarbonate and in a 35mm profile for use with polycarbonate. The outerframe also has dedicated beading to suit 24, 25 and 35mm glazing. Plus to ensure it complements the entire K2 range of roofs, the new aluminum vent is fully sculptured.
The K2 aluminum roof vent will also offer the homeowner impressive design freedom. As well as white and blue/white, the vent will be supplied in mahogany, rosewood and golden oak foiled woodgrain finishes– with both the sash and outerframe being foiled. Once again, these foiled options are quite possibly unique to K2 and provide a real advantage to fabricators and installers looking to offer their customers a greater degree of choice.
Naturally, the new aluminum vent also retains all the features and benefits of its PVCU counterpart. This includes including a demountable hinge, concealed fixings and the reassurance of being backed by a 10 year guarantee. Its opening bracket mechanism also screws into dedicated aluminum reinforcements making it a more attractive alternative to units whose bracket mechanisms screw into a timber reinforced outer frame.
Speaking of the new vent, K2’s Technical Manager, Lee Chadwick said: “K2 has an impressive track record in ventilation products. Our PVCU vent was a great success and the new aluminum version looks set to take that success still further.
“By combining all the technology and expertise at our disposal, we believe we have created an industry leading product that will offer enormous benefits – both to the trade and to the homeowner. Quite simply, its intelligent design will set the standard for other manufacturers to aspire to.”
