Celsius Goes Back To School

When St Thomas Moors Catholic School, Nuneaton, had funding released for their window project earlier this year, Formula One Windows went knocking on the head teacher’s door. Not something that many of us relish doing I imagine... particularly if it is your old school...

As it turns out they were asked to contact the Buildings Manager, Mr David Lloyd, in order to apply for tender.

The school needed to replace all their windows (over 200 frames) in order to provide a more comfortable study environment to their pupils.

Mr Lloyd was looking for two key factors when it came to selecting the right company for the job:

• The confidence that they could take on such a large project and had the required expertise.
• The reassurance that the installed product would meet all required technical specifications.

Installing a product in a school comes with its own set of requirements, particularly when it comes to glass.

Formula One fitted their own frames with leading performance glass Celsius One.

K2’s Celsius glass is already approved by Lancashire County Council for all schools in the Lancashire region so the product’s credentials are impeccable.

Manufactured to BS EN 1279-2 standard, toughened to BS EN 12150-1 standard, Celsius comes with a 10 year warranty against seal failure. The units themselves where specified as follows: 6.4mm clear laminate for the inner sheet (a laminated glass being a requirement for a school), 18mm Silver spacer, 4mm Celsius One outer sheet.
